America's Triple Crown horse racing season is almost over. In two weeks racing fans will bet and cheer for the 2006 Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. The nation's oldest thoroughbred race will run on June 10, 2006.

Derby winner Barbaro failed to defend his perfect record after suffering serious injuries and pulling out of the Preakness. Therefore the Triple Crown title gors back to the shelf. But that doesn't take away the excitement for coming Belmont Stakes 2006 race for top three-year-olds.

Race Tracks 2006 Racing Season

Belmont Park Opening. Belmont Park in Elmont, New York, the largest track in North America is set to start on its second 100 years when it opens its 59-day Spring/Summer Meet on May 3. Belmont Park is home to the Belmont Stakes, last leg of the Triple Crown series.

Pimlico Race Meet 2006. Pimlico Race Course in Maryland's 2006 race meet begins April 20. The headline event of the eight-week stand is the 131st running of the $1 million Preakness Stakes, the middle jewel of the Triple Crown, on May 20.
